Spring rafting is not for the faint of heart. It's a season of high water flows
due to early spring rains and snowmelt with cooler temperatures making wetsuits a must. But if you have an adventurous spirit and a flair for excitement...grab a friend and head for the New River!
Trout Restocking Slated For Spring
Pre-spawn and spring fishing on New River promises aggressive striking.
As the weather warms up, baitfish and crayfish are on the move with hellgrammites starting to hatch. This is all good news for the smallmouth bass which is becoming more and more aggressive this time of year. By April and May, you'll have a great shot at catching that trophy you've been dreaming about all winter long.
The cool clean waters of our local rivers and streams are "a little bit of heaven" for trout in the West Virginia mountains each spring. And as the DNR concentrates its stocking efforts during March, April and early May we're ramping up for some fine fishing conditions this season! Join us for a private trip or a lesson to get ready for summer.
