Adventurous Whitewater means you can expect Class III,IV & V Rapids with exciting waves and holes to keep your attention. You'll need to participate by paddling through the rapids and though rafters should be at least 12, they won't need prior rafting experience.
Well, if you thought Fall Gauley Rafting Season was a blast, wait till you catch a wave on the Gauley River in springtime! It's not uncommon for flows to quadruple scheduled fall releases during the spring making for a heart pounding river adventure. In the summer, water flows reach very precise levels making those world-class drops even steeper and more technical to run. Spring or fall, the Summersville Dam releases cool clear water from the bottom of Summersville Lake for invigorating whitewater experiences all year long!
Experience the best of both worlds! Raft the New River (Day 1) and the Gauley River (Day 2) for nonstop whitewater action. This is a great trip to gain personal insight into the nuances and characteristics of each river without missing a beat. And depending on water levels and conditions, you could end up in a raft, a duck or both for a one-of-a-kind whitewater adventure.
